snails pace.... or am I a tortoise?

Its not that I don't want to blog, it's just there are other things in my life that need done before blogging. Priorities. That's all. Anyway - Confucius say:

It does not matter how slowly you go, so long as you do not stop.

and that is now my mantra for 2011 for many reasons 2 of which I will share.

My weight loss journey is achingly slow - since 31st Jan I have lost 1 st 1/2lb - thats an average of a 1/2lb a week. But it does not matter how slow you go as long as you do not stop. I am now at 51.5lb total loss, instead of dwelling on the slooooooowwww part, I am looking at the whole journey and celebrating that achievement. 12lb to go to reach target. That's potentially another 24 weeks..... I'm not dwelling on that either!!! much!

My crafting has almost come to standstill due to the loss of mojo and enthusiasm, probably because its been an emotional year. I really think I'm over the whole Nana trauma and then like last night I have horrible flash backs to being there watching her suffer and remembering that she is gone. Not so often now, but its still like a kick in the gut. Work has been busy, I have been filling in for a colleague who was on long term sick and so working 5 mornings a week since the Spring half term hols which gave me much less time to dwell on things - now on summer hols till 5th Sept and have almost every single day mapped out with 'things to do' - how you people who work full time and don't get school holidays off manage to get everything done AND still craft I have no idea - I am in awe. I have made maybe 6 cards and a couple of gifts and a box frame since Jan. But it does not matter how slow you go as long as you do not stop right? One day I will be on form again. As soon as all the other pressing stuff that has to be done first is done.

I am still BUYING craft stash.... so there is hope for me yet.... ahem. I have ordered some pens (Spectrum Noir) which I'm very excited about, as I think colouring in is about as crafty as I can get at the mo - its easy to get the pens and a couple of stamped images out and put them away again without having to a massive re-organisation of my desk/room first so I think I could be set for a summer of colouring in... would that suit this Tortoise? I hope so - I can watch all the hares zip past me making wonderful albums full of fabulous layouts while I quietly potter along, colouring in....

Here's a couple of the things I have managed this year.

Great to see you back in Blogland Clare. It has been a tough time for you recently.

I had neglected my blog for a while but am making every effort to keep it going.

Looking forward to more updates and maybe seeing some of your colouring in :)
