Dogs or Cats

Tell me 5 names of of pets you have had, pets you would like, or pets you are going to have!

I've had quite a few cats in my life, Cindy was the first, she lived with my Nana as I wasn't allowed pets at home. When I moved out and began living on my own I aquired 2 cats quite quickly! Sarah was a stray, pure white and very prim and proper (hence the name Sarah!) but a bit of a wanderer (probably why she was a stray to begin with) and was hit by a car and killed after I'd had her about a year. Coco, my lovely black puss and best friend who was the only kitten of a friends cat, so I knew him from being just hours old. He was called Coco because he was a 'little black number' (after the Channel little black dress!) He came to live with me when he was 8 weeks old and lived to be 17 1/2. He lived with me in all the houses I have lived in as an adult.

I also had Lizzy - a black and white moggy who is the loudest and softest cat I've ever met - and totally mad - hence Lizzy after 'Mad Lizzy' who was on TV at the time.  Floyd - grey and white and a little tearaway - she came to me shortly after the death of Kurt Cobain and so was named after a Nirvana song. Floyd had a litter of her own (after she escaped from the tinest open window in my bedroom!!) and she had 4 gorgeous kittens. Hamish and Dougall were twin boys, black with white bibs and paws, Fergus was fluffy, mainly white and with a few black patches and one black ear, and Midge - the smallest one, born last and the only girl, who was also fluffy and grey and white like her mam. I was on a bit of a Scottish theme when they came along, so they all got scottish names (Midge being a scottish nick name for 'small' as in Midge Ure) I found good homes for all the kittens when they were 10 weeks old but I could quite easily have kept them all.

A few months after that we found the longer hair of both Lizzy and Floyd was setting off Jamies chest and contributing to his almost permanent cough and sniffle, so I had to have them re-homed :-( they went to a lovely lady who was friend of my Aunt, both together.  Coco stayed, being a short hair he didn't seem to affect Jamie thankfully - although it could have just been the reduction in the cats that helped as they all would pile on his bed to sleep!

Now I have Lola - a completely neurotic Tortie who is a fantastic hunter and although tiny - the bravest cat I've ever met when it comes to defending her territory and she takes on the big bashed tom cats who are more than twice the size of her and see's them off her garden! She is named after the Kinks song.

I also had a dog - he was called Spook, named after a bird that lived in the dog shelter we got him from and we just liked the name - he was a shaggy blonde mutt with the cutest teddy bear face - definitely some Border collie in him, and some sort of terrier.

And we have had various other small things - fish (Burt and Ernie) gerbil (Basil) rabbit (Apple)

Pete would very much like a dog one day, a labrador, black or chocolate. I always said if I had a couple of labs they would be called Ben (short for Bently - my fave car) and Coby (short for Cobain - as in Kurt).

So thats a bit more than 5..... LOL

My life has been a bit cat dominated too! As a child we had a Siamese called Cleopatra and two sleek black half Siamese - Samson and Delilah - my parents went in for grand names.. well at least for the pets!

Once I left home my first furbabies of my own were Rosie and Tom - to date Rosie has to be the most affectionate cat I've ever owned and I miss her dearly.

Now I've got Imogen - long haired and totally mental - even one vet has refused to see her! Fluff who was the sitting tenant in the house I purchased - she was even listed on the fixtures and fittings form under 'additonal items'! And ... Darcy - my 2 year old short haired tabby that thinks she's a dog - she chews everything and growls at the door! Do I moan about them? Yes. Do I get angry when I'm clearing up dead mice etc? Yes. Do they cost me a fortune? Yes. Would I part with them... most definitely not - my home is not home unless I'm greeted with a meow! :-)

Well at the moment I have Spike - the fat lazy and cuddly cat

When I was little I had a black toy poodle called Fifi and the only other pets I have had were two goldfish called Gin and Tonic (my Dad named them ;p;_

For number five it would have to be a pet I would like to have - it would have to be a black Scottish terrier and I would call him Hamish I think
