5 on a Friday

Inspired by the release of the remastered 'Band on the Run' album from Wings, this weeks topic is:

5 favourite Beatles songs

any song written and/or performed by any of the fab four, either together or solo (Its still a song by a Beatle after all!) or in collaboration with another artist, or a classic as covered by someone else. There is an extensive back catalogue from all four Beatles, so there is no shortage of choice for this one!

I have always been a huge Beatles fan,and this is quite hard for me to pick just 5 that are the best - so I'm not going to say they are the best - or that they are my most faves - just that these are 5 Beatles songs that I particularly love, and for these reasons.....

1. Blackbird - from The White Album. Simple, sweet, a lullaby, so lovely. Pete used to play this on the guitar and sing it when Tom was little.
2. With a little help from my friends - as recorded by Joe Cocker. One of the few cover versions that is probably much better than the original from Sergeant Pepper.
3. Taxman - from Revolver. My most listened to album.
4. In my life - from Rubber Soul. My second most listened to album, and the song we chose as our first dance at our wedding...... although it never actually happened on the night!
5. Eight days a week - from Beatles for sale. My fave one to sing on Beatles Rock band!!!
