It's Wednesday

Time for a Weyhey! This week I joined a team on UKScrappers. I hadn't planned to join a team: been there done that got the T-Shirt as they say! Nor did I really ever think I'd want to go there again. Even 6 weeks ago I would have said no thank you when asked, but just lately..... well I have been scrapping again, and even better WANTING to scrap, so I figured - go on! They are a lovely bunch of girls and I crop with 3 of them (hence the invite!) and I think it could really motivate me to scrap some more for ME again. I have already checked out this weeks challenge and got myself a plan, and might just put that plan in motion today.

The team system on UKS is quite a feat of organisation, capably run by Scrapdolly. when you are new to UKS joining a team can help you feel less daunted, find some other newbies to settle in with, and also helps give your mojo a kick when needed! Some teams collect points, others are for chatting only. I like a bit of both.

I'm feeling very excited about being a teamie, and getting to know the girls better, and joining in with team stuff again. One of the first things I had to do was make a set of 10 address cards for a swap, where each of us gets a card from everyone with their name, address and any other details they want to share on. I got busy straight away and made mine yesterday.

I like a bit of a 'production line' - first I made 10 background cards - size 14cm x 10.5cm - from Soft suede cardstock stamped with Sanded and A to Z background stamps in Basic Grey and Whisper white. I inked the edges with whisper white then again lightly with basic grey.

I have a thing for A to Z background at the moment - I want to use it on everything - especially stamped in white. I indulged myself this time! Because it's one of the smaller size background stamps, I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line it up to get even coverage across the card.

Next I made 10 'pocket fronts' to go on the card - using Bashful Blue cardstock. I stamped a the Medallion image in bashful blue ink so it was partially covering the cardstock, then stamped the word 'Friendship' from the Wonderful Words set over the top in Basic Black ink. I added a small shell button to each, tied with a piece of linen thread.

I decided to add a tab to each of the pockets. I stamped and punched 10 tabs from Kraft cardstock using one of the images from Totally Tabs and the Tab punch, stamping in Basic Grey ink.

Once all the pieces were made, I assembled them into 10 cards. At the last moment I decided to add a little bit of a scallop edge under the pocket, and so used my Scallop edge punch and Whisper white cardstock. This is how they look when finished.

On the back I attached a piece of Whisper white cardstock printed with my details such as my address, occupation and a few random things about me. I rolled the edges of the white card with Forever flowers wheel in bashful blue ink.

I also popped a business card in the pocket on the front with my Stampin' Up! demo details on, I didn't want to include that info on the card itself as I don't want to 'advertise' myself as a demo to the girls in the team if you see what I mean - but it IS a part of me and what I do, so and this way it's there but out of sight! Plus if there's a time in the future when I am no longer a demo (in this current economic climate - who knows what will happen next?? or indeed with my current health issues!) then it can be removed from my details and chucked away without having to make a whole new card.

I made 10 so I could have one too! and keep it together with the other cards I will receive from the rest of the team :-)

Oh and just a warning - I have been playing with photoshop again..... you know what's coming right?? LOL. Expect a(nother) blog redecoration at some point this week!
